Bamboo Leaf Tea is made from organically grown bamboo leaves. The leaves are hand picked and washed thoroughly. They are then processed through a series of cooking methods, chopped and packaged.
Bamboo tea is often confused with bamboo leaf tea. It is tea leaves, Camellia sinensis, that are processed and cured in bamboo culms. This results in a green tea.
Bamboo does not contain caffeine. The Green Tea + Lemongrass, Chai, and Breakfast Black all contain some caffeine, the highest amount being in the green tea blend.
Bamboo leaf tea has a mildly sweet flavor. It is wonderful both hot and cold and complements any meal.
We are currently testing our product however bamboo leaf tea and bamboo leaf extract have been used medicinally in the Indian Ayurvedic tradition as well as in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. The bamboo is grown in Florida. We do not use any chemicals in the growing or processing of the bamboo leaves. Our bamboos thrive naturally in the warm, humid environment that Florida provides.
The Chinese associate bamboo with such traits as elasticity, endurance, and perseverance. It has been said that in the event of a hurricane climb into the bamboo plant and hold onto the culms for the plant with remain long after the storm has gone.
Use 1 tsp or 2 g of tea per 8 ounces of water. Allow the tea to steep for 3-5 minutes before serving. The tea can be used several times by boiling the leaves or tea sachet 3-5 minutes the second time and up to 15 minutes the third time. Boiling the bamboo allows it to open and release more nutrients. For ice tea use 1/4 cup of Bamboo Leaf Tea per 6 quarts of water (1/2cup of honey can be added if you would like a sweeter taste)
The 1/2oz package can make 6-8 quarts of ice tea, 4 pots of tea, or 16 cups of tea. The 1oz package makes double that quantity.

A lot of people are interested in the high silica content of bamboo which from our feedback as well as studies has shown consistently to reduce hair shed, increase hair growth, and improve hair vitality. It also has been shown, when used regularly to significantly reduce inflammation due to arthritis. Silica is water soluble and so it is highest in the tea. That being said silica flushes out of the body if it is not used so then how much can your body absorb? This is an unknown because there are so many factors involved. The best way seems to be taking it throughout the day to really give your body a chance to use it when it is ready. I recommend doing this for 30 days to see the best results. The bamboo powder also contains silica about 30 mg per 2 capsules. This is the recommended amount of silica needed a day. The tea contains 350mg of silica in comparison. The powder also has very high amounts of magnesium as well as other minerals like manganese, potassium, calcium, selenium and some vitamins. This makes the powder a great mineral supplement. Magnesium is vital for so many cellular functions that it’s importance in hair growth is at least equal to silica. Most people are deficient in magnesium so taking both the powder and the tea together for one month can be a great way to get all of the benefits of bamboo.
The powder does not dissolve in water but can easily be added to a smoothie or food. It can be cooked into soups or just added to scrambled eggs. Alternatively it can be mixed into applesauce or yogurt as an easier way to eat it.
